According to reports, Selma Police Officers responded to a domestic dispute on 1905 First Ave. Upon arrival, officers discovered Wynn, shot in the chest. Howard was arrested after a preliminary investigation.

The police are still investigating the shooting.

“This is considered an ongoing investigation and no further information can be released at this time,” Public Information Officer Sgt. Joe Little said in the release.

This is the 13th murder in Selma this year, and the third in less than a week.

The last two occurred Sunday, Nov. 7, when Robert Fails Jr. and Antonio Boggan were both killed during a shootout at Donnie Roy’s Nightspot on Maxey Avenue.

Cornelius Ford was later arrested and charged with Fails’ death and two other counts of first degree assault.

Ford is currently being held at the Dallas County Jail without bond, as per orders from District Judge Nathaniel Walker.

Eight others were injured in the club shooting, including an unidentified 16-year-old.

The shooting prompted Selma Mayor James Perkins to speak out strongly against the crime in Selma.

“No mercy for the shooters,” he said in an earlier interview.

Police are still seeking information on the shooting at Donnie Roy’s and the death of Wynn.
