Morris Edward Hatcher
Morris Edward Hatcher, of Selma, died Saturday, October 2, 2004, in Selma.
Services are at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 9, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1916 Selma Ave., with the Rev. Rufus King officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia W. Hatcher; mother, Ethel Lanier; father EuGene Hatcher; two sons; two daughters; three brothers; eight sisters; six brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Active pallbearers are family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are family and friends.
Mr. Hatcher was a Baptist. He served in the Army National Guard, and was an entrepreneur.
Lorenzo Muse
Lorenzo Muse, 40, of Orrville, died Wednesday, September 29, 2004, at a Birmingham hospital.
Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 10, at John the Baptist Church in Orrville with the Rev. Curtis Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Salem P.B. Church Cemetery, Orrville, with Miller Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Muse; mother, Lizzie Mae Scott; daughters, Ashley and Alexis Muse both of Orrville; six brothers, Eugene Scott, Willie James Muse Jr., Roosevelt Muse, Johnny Muse, Joseph Scott and Onnis Scott; three sisters, Mary Jackson, Sandra Scott and Gloria Clark; five brothers-in-law; six sisters-in-law; 13 nephews; nine nieces; 10 aunts, seven uncles; two great-aunts; three great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie James Muse.
Active pallbearers are nephews and friends.
Edith Green Ruckman
Edith Green Ruckman, 87, of Selma, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at a local hospital.
Graveside services are at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 9, the Chapel of Selma Funeral Home with the Rev. Al Finch officiating. Graveside service will follow at Pineview Memorial Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include her husband, Johnie R. Ruckman of Selma; one son, Timothy C. Ruckman of Selma; one daughter, Melinda R. (David) Pruitt of Vestavia Hills; one sister, Muriel G. Mackin of Selma; four grandchildren, Kenton R. Ruckman and Lisa Lynn Ruckman of Lownsboro, David C. Pruitt of Anniston and Lindsay R. Pruitt of Vestavia Hills.
Mrs. Ruckman was preceded in death by one son, Johnie R. Ruckman Jr.
Family visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elkdale Baptist Church Building Fund.
Mrs. Ruckman worked as church secretary for Elkdale Baptist Church for 27 years.
Jessie Williams
Jessie Williams, 60, of Lowndesboro, died Wednesday, September 29, 2004.
Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 9, at the Chapel of Bell Funeral Home with Min. Larry Charleston III officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Creek Cemetery with Bell
Funeral Home directing.
Family visitation will be at 12 noon on Saturday prior to the service.
Wade Brown
Wade Brown, 60, of Selma, died Wednesday, October 6, 2004, at his daughter’s home.
Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 10, at Mt. Mariah Baptist Church, Tyler, with Dist. Elder Lover J. Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
\Survivors include mother, Essie Mae McCord; two sons, Curtis Brown and Anthony Brown; one daughter, Lenora Barnes; brothers, James Brown, Johnny Brown and Amos Brown; sisters, Betty Sigler, Ada Steele, Willie Colon, Lillian Blackmon, Sarah Rudolph and Dorothy Brown; seven grandchildren; two daughters-in-law; one son-in-law; seven brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and a host of other relatives.

Jinkins Mason Jr., 71, of Gulfport, died October 1, 2004, in New Orleans, La.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 9, at Lilly Grove Baptist Church n Kimbrough, with the Rev. Richard Mason officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Fannie Mae Thomas, died Wednesday, October 6, 2004.

Infant Qulisa King
Infant Qulisa King, of Selma, died Sunday, October 3, 2004.
Graveside services are at 12 noon, Saturday, October 9, at Elmwood Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include her parents, Mary King and Richard Parker.
Rosie Merriweather-Moorer
Rosie Merriweather-Moorer, 64, of Hempstead, N.Y., formerly of Jefferson, died Sunday, October 3, 2004, at a New York hospital.
Services are at 12 noon Saturday, October 9, at Kingdom Hall in Demopolis. Burial will follow in Scott Memorial Cemetery in Jefferson with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.
Family visitation will be from4-6 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
The body will lie in state at the hall on Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m.
Willie Jones-Braxton
Willie Jones-Braxton, 43, of Demopolis, died Sunday, October 3, 2004, at a Birmingham hospital.
Services are at 12 noon Sunday, October 10, at Birdine AME Zion Church in Forkland, with the Rev. Perry Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.
Family visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home.
The body will lie in state at the church on Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m.
