Selma Police and Dallas County Sheriff Department officers arrested 10 suspected drug dealers over the weekend, according to a press reported released by the SPD.

All of the suspects are being charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

The arrests were made after an Aug. 27 Grand Jury handed down 14 different indictments, according to police.

According to District Attorney Ed Greene, the indictments and subsequent arrests stem from an undercover operation,

which Selma Police say has been ongoing for the past eight months.

“Mr. Andy Arrington, Drug Task force attorney and Coordinator, Det. Tony Buford, Lt. John Brock, Sgt. David Hopkins Drug and others have been instrumental in causing this to happen,” Greene said.

The SPD, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department, the State ABC Board and the 4th Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force were all involved in the operation.

“We feel this is a step in the right direction to attack people in the business of selling drugs in our area,” Greene said.
