Accidents injure two, kill one

Six motor vehicle accidents resulted in two injuries and one death according to Alabama State Troopers posted in Dallas County.

Michael Brown, 29, resident of Selma, was struck and killed at 9:45 p.m. Friday, by a 2004 Chevy Silverado three miles East of Selma on Highway 80.

According to reports, Brown was standing in the road when an unidentified driver from Prattville hit him.

He was transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Two 15-year-olds were injured in accidents Thursday, according to troopers. The first accident occurred in Sardis, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Alabama Highway 22, two miles west of Alabama Highway 219.

The second was injured at 10:15 p.m. on Dallas County Road 128 in Sardis. The juvenile was transported to Vaughan Regional Medical by family, according to State Troopers at Craig Field.

Saturday, at 2:10 p.m. on the intersection of Alabama Highway 14E and River Road, two vehicles were involved in an accident. No injuries were reported.

As of Sunday, at 3 p.m., two accidents had occurred. The first was at 12:25 a.m. in the 1100 block of Old Montgomery Highway. No injuries were reported.

The other occurred at 2:06 a.m. in Safford at the Alabama Highway 5 and Highway 22 intersection when a pickup truck overturned.

No injuries were reported.
