Alice Lee Hamilton

Alice Lee Hamilton, 71, of McHenry, Ill., died Saturday, August 7, 2004, at a nursing home in Illinois.

Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 12, in Goose Creek Cemetery in Lamison, with the Rev. Mike Allen officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include brothers, Robert (Nellie) Lee of St. Petersburg, Fla., James (Rachel) Lee of Toney, John (Voncile) Lee of Selma and Roger (Sarah) Lee of Kennesaw, Ga.; sisters, Sarah Widdowson of Troy, Jean (Thurman) Harvell of Selma, Elizabeth Palmer of Athens, Katie (Harold) Scheid of Wauconda, Ill, Violet (Elvin) Stokes of Thomaston, Judy (Mike) Osburn of Marion, Diane (Tom) Robb of Athens and Carol (Curtis) Lewellen; sister-in-law, Marie Lee; two foster grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by son, Timothy Pearson, step-son, Billy Pearson, her parents, Walter and Mary B. Lee, two brothers, Fudge Lee and Authur Mac Lee.

Active pallbearers are brothers-in-law and nephews.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11, with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Ms. Hamilton was born in Marengo County, and joined Sardis Baptist Church in Thomaston, as a teenager. She also lived in Selma and Orrville before moving to Illinois.

David Swift

David Swift, 55, of Selma, died Monday, August 9, 2004, in Meridian, Miss.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Walker Mortuary.

Freddie M. Mayfield

Freddie M. Mayfield, 79, of Selma, died Monday, August 2, 2004, at a local hospital.

Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Miller Funeral

Home directing.

Laymond Percy Marsh

Laymond Percy Marsh, 56, of Selma, died Monday, August 9, 2004, at a local hospital.

Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, at New Live Oak Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Fancher officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Jocye Hollingshead Marsh of Selma; sons, Percy (Heather) Mersh II of Mobile, David Kyle Kinman of

Selma and Bradford Carl (Kristy) Marsh of Alabaster; daughters, Tammy (Leith) Wilson of Selma and Carissa Ann (Bruce) Adams of Maplesville; brother, Frank (Kathy) Marsh of Selma; sister, Teresa Marsha Grant; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kristopher, Laymond, Will, Matt, Josie, Alexis, Matthew, Sierra.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Helen Marsh.

Active pallbearers are Bradford Fondren, Benny Hollingshead, Bruce Adams and Kerry Kendricks.

Family visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home.

Jessie Lou Edwards, 90, of Autauga County, died Monday, August 9, 2004.

Pettus Gilford, 87, of Marion Junction, died recently.
