Betty Hunter Rives Winters

Betty Hunter Rives Winters, 78, of McWilliams, died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at her home. She was a native of Selma and a lifelong resident of McWilliams.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Winters Sr.; a daughter, Elizabeth Rives Winters; parents, Thomas James and Marjorie Berry Rives; sister, Barbara Rives Hardy; and brother, Thomas James Rives Jr.

Survivors include four sons, Philip (Dale) Winters Jr., Pineapple; Tom (Mitzi) Winters, Birmingham; Vic Winters, Pineapple; Richard Winters, McWilliams; two daughters, Theresa (Rommy) Vistart, Mobile; Eugenia (Chris) Stone, Pineapple; five sisters, Margie Lindsey, Montgomery; Martha Johnson, Selma; Claire Bowman, Tampa, Fla.; Theus Davis, Demopolis; Elisabeth Easters, Selma; nine grandchildren, Philip Mallo Winters, Hunter Jones Winters, William Parker Winters, Ruth Elise Vistart, Ashley Brook Winters, Thomas Adams Winters, Christopher Carter Stone Jr., Jordan Winters Stone and Alvin Colby Stone.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 26, at the McWilliams Methodist Church from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. at the McWilliams Cemetery, with the Rev. William Earnest officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to go to the McWilliams Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 102, McWilliams, AL 36753.

Johnson Funeral Home, in Monroeville, is in charge of arrangements.
