Roy Lee Myles

Roy Lee “Fat” Myles, 42, of Selma, died Thursday, July 15, 2004, at a local hospital.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at Christian Grace Apostolic Church with Bishop James Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery with J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include two brothers, Willie (Ida) Suttles of Detroit, Mich., and Dewayne (Zola) Myles of Selma; five sisters, Mary Johnson, Annie Smith, Brenda Moore, Gloria Lyons and Debbie (Lee) Hale of Selma; sister-in-law, Martha Suttles; brother-in-law, Frank Clay; one aunt, Ella Mae Richardson. A devoted friend, Virginia Stubbs; six adopted children, Cassandra Stubbs, Alfredia Stubbs, Antonittie Stubbs, Regina Minniefield, Tonya Minniefield and Antonio Stubbs; 15 adopted grandchildren; 22 nieces and nephews; 35 great-nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends; a special friend, Annie Wade.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Minnie Myles (Clay), two brothers, Henry Myles and Johnny Suttles and a nephew, Marcus Bell.

Mr. Myles was born on Oct. 14, 1961 in Selma, to the late Willie and Ruby Myles. He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Bethlehem Baptist Church, later attending Christian Grace until his death.

Fondren

Nora Marcus Fondren, 77, of Marion, died Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at a Selma hospital.

Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Friday, July 23, at Heiberger United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. James L. Waters Jr. officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel directing.

Survivors include her husband, George Fondren of Marion; one daughter, Barbara Fondren of Marion Jct. three brothers, James Earl Marcus of Birmingham, Robert Kenneth Marcus of Marion, Iowa and John C. Massey of Foley; two granddaughters, Alexis Irene Derrington of Los Angeles,

Calif., and Nora Elizabeth Shaw of Vernon, Conn.

Active pallbearers are Howard Jacobi, Dr. Jim DuPree, Larry Jones, Phil Plotkin, Robert Earl Marcus and James Stewart.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, at Kirk Funeral Homes of Marion Chapel.

Bernice J. Clemons

Bernice J. Clemons, 69, Selma, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at a local hospital.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home.
