Elder Tom Gardner Jr.

Elder Tom Gardner Jr., 95, of Lowndes County, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at a Montgomery hospital.

Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, at Beulah P.B. Church, Hope Hull, with the Rev. Tom Gardner III officiating and E.G. Cumming Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Mable Moore Gardner; seven children, Dorothy Jenkins (Eddie) Sanders of Hope Hull, Nancy (Andrew) Sewell of Selma, Theresa (Charlie) Douglass and Gloria (Frank) Humphery all of Montgomery and Negatha (Ollie) Holt of Burkville; John (Barbara) Gardner of Cleveland, Ohio and Rev. Tom (Estella) Gardner of Burkville; daughter-in-law, Vinnie (Willie) Gardner of Montgomery; one special god-daughter, Velma Sanders Griffin of Morganfield, Ky.; two sisters-in-law, Juliette A. Freeman of Montgomery and Mary (Alfred) Gardner of Detroit, Mich.; one brother-in-law, James Jackson Freeman of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one son, Rev. Willie J. Gardner, eight sisters and two brothers.

The body will lie in state at the church on Wednesday, from 9:30 -11 a.m.

Linda Gayle Sanders

Linda Gayle Sanders, 47, of Demopolis, died Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at her residence.

Funeral services are at noon July 19 at the Eastern Star Baptist Church in Demopolis with the Rev. Terry Gosa officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Larkin and Scott Funeral directing.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 11 a.m.

Public viewing will be held Sunday from 2p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel. Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis are entrusted with the arrangements.
