searching for a 17-year-old juvenile in connection to the alleged sexual abuse of a 7-year-old child. The Selma Times-Journal was unable to confirm that the arrest was in fact tied to the abuse case as of presstime.

The case has been under investigation by the Selma Police Department since June 22, when they first received a complaint.

According to Chief Robert Green, the nature of the injuries and statements made to police lead officers to suspect sexual abuse.

The child, who resides in the Selmont community, was taken to Vaughan Regional Medical Center for treatment. An investigator from the Selma Police youth aid division is currently following up on the case.

Police officials are expected to make an announcement about the case on Monday.

He is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail on a $50,000 bond. Police department officials could not be contacted regarding the arrest.
