Police immediately transported the woman to safety and secured the area.
“Of course we got her out of the danger zone,” Police Chief Robert Green said.
Officers closed off the street and at least one officer was observed with a drawn pistol near the entrance to the residence. Officers attempted to contact the youth several times on the phone. When the young man’s father,
he attempted to contact him as well.
“We kept calling, (he’d) hang up. His father called, he’d hang up,” Green said.
A K-9 officer spotted the young man fleeing from a side door. An officer pursued the youth on foot and caught him two houses down.
The weapon was retrieved from his own back yard.
Police took the youth into custody. Green said the police would contact juvenile facilities in Hale County as well as probation services.
