“We want it to grow to where the whole town comes out,” Selma High assistant football coach Tim Grubbs said.

The event will raise money for the Selma High Saints football team and be held in the parking lot at Memorial Stadium.

Though the event is free to spectators, the cost is $60 per team. Teams can have three or four players, but no more.

There will also be a slam dunk and a three-point shooting contest. For an additional fee, players can compete in those events.

Concessions will be available for the fans.

“We want it to be a festive -type atmosphere,” Grubbs said. “It’s going to be a relaxing atmosphere.”

Grubbs added that there is a high school division and it’s a chance for local players to get out and compete with some of the guys they may not see during the regular high school season.

For entry forms stop by any of the events’ sponsors, Pepsi, Regions Bank, The Selma Times-Journal, National Voting Rights Museum and Institute, Mobiling-USA and McDonald’s.

Grubbs said the tournament is a chance to come out and support the Saints while earning bragging rights until next year.
