Selma Police want to make businesses safer. To accomplish this goal, the department is organizing a business watch program.
The watch, a crime prevention program, would function similarly to a Neighborhood Watch program, allowing businesses a chance to get involved in protecting their investments in the community.
Sgt. Doug Stewart has been named as the Selma Police Department’s Crime Prevention Officer. Stewart will direct the program, offering crime prevention tips, reporting procedures, security recommendations. Stewart will also share information between the department and the police regarding criminal activities.
For more information on the Business Watch or any of these programs, contact the Selma Police Department at 874-2123. The Business Watch will kickoff Thursday, April 29, at 10 a.m. at the Stripling Performing Arts Center.
