Dallas County residents who require dialysis now have a additional facility to choose from when seeking treatment.

Area doctors, their staff, and members of the community came to witness the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new Physicians Choice Dialysis of Selma and Montgomery Kidney Specialists’ Selma Office on Lincoln Lane.

Dr. Michael Broder, one of the three doctors operating the new facility, said dialysis treatment will be available five days a week by appointment.

Broder described Physicians Choice Dialysis as being a &uot;well-balanced facility&uot; which also offers treatment of kidney disease and high blood pressure, two known conditions that can

lead to dialysis.

The dialysis center currently has ten stations to treat patients, with plans to expand to 40 or 50 by the end of the year.

A staff of five nurses and assistants help patients with their treatment, and Broder says they will be adding more as expansion continues.

Dr. Luis Ardon, another partner in the new facility, said he was glad to finally be operating in Selma.

Dr. Rafael Lopez is the other partner with Physicians Choice, and Dr. D. Popov will also be assisting with the new facility.

After the ribbon-cutting, the physicians held a reception later on that evening and allowed the public to tour the new dialysis center and office.
