Davis going to Bama

Following in the footsteps of other Selma-area hoopsters, Selma High star Brandon Davis intends to try his luck at the University of Alabama.

Like former Keith and Wilcox Central star Antoine Pettway, Davis is a guard who can look to score or run the point.

Davis turned down offers from other schools to pursue his life-long dream of playing for the Tide, according to his father, Foster Davis.

Davis was Selma High’s leading scorer with 20 points a game this season.

He will attend Alabama this summer in order to begin classes and work out with the team.

Davis will join Southside alum Chuck Davis on the Tide squad and will have to try and help fill the famous red shoes of Pettway.

Pettway, a walk-on as well, was a key component in his senior year for the Tide.

He led Alabama’s deep run into the NCAA tournament.

Brandon was selected to the Alabama

All-Star team.

He was also All-State, he made All-Area and All-Regional as well as the STJ’s All-Area team. Brandon was All-Tournament in the Blue/Gray Tournament in Montgomery and was MVP of the inaugural Selma Christmas Tournament.
