CCA blasts Marion

On Monday afternoon at Bloch Park, just about everything was going Central Christian’s way.

The Warriors batted around and around as they beat the Panthers, 31-2.

CCA scored three runs in the first inning, then notched 17 more in the second.

For good measure they plate 11 more in the third.

The list of Central’s hitters is long.

Bud Smith led the team with five runs scored on a triple, two single and a walk. Eric Curtis added four runs while picking up a pair of triples.

Quince Colburn had an inside-the-park homerun and Sean Baxley had a triple and Ben Fleming had a trio of RBI singles.

Andrew Harrison added a hit and a run scored while Phillip Himphill had an RBI double.

Bud Showltz walked and doubled and scored twice while Philip Yeargan added a double and scored.

Destry Everhart reached base and Ben Todd added a single as well.

Simuel Walker scored three times despite not getting a hit in the game.

After being held to three runs in the first inning, Central batted around twice in the second inning, plating 17 runs as the over-matched Marion squad struggled.

Marion scored two runs in the bottom of the inning, but CCA batted around again and scored 11 more with most of their back-ups getting in some swings.
