Frances Hayes

Frances Hayes died at a local nursing home March 13, 2004.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 14, in the Chapel of J.H. Williams and Sons at noon.

Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery Monday, March 15.

Minister Getrude Jiles will officiate.

Mrs. Hayes is survived by a sister, Libbie King and a host of other relatives.

Elmer Johnson

Elmer Johnson, 77, of Demopolis, died March 10, 2004, at Bryan Whitfield Hospital.

Services will be held Monday, March 15, at 1 p.m. at the Hopewell Baptist Church in Demopolis. The Rev. Marvin Johnson will officiate.

Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

The remains will repose at the church on Monday beginning at noon.

Lewis Alexander

Lewis Alexander, 81, of Uniontown, died March 5, 2004, at Bryan Whitfield Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 14, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Uniontown. The Rev. Anthony Timble is the pastor. The Rev. Fred Moore will officiate. Burial will follow in Lilly Hill Cemetery, Uniontown. The remains will repose at the church on Sunday, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis are entrusted with arrangements.

Mary B. Hubbert

Mary B. Hubbert, 85, Forkland, died March 3, 2004 at DCH Regional Medical Center, Tuscaloosa.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 13, at the First United Baptist Church. Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors were entrusted with arrangements.

Survilla B. Scott

Survilla B. Scott, 74, Forkland, died March 7, 2004, at Bryan Whitfield Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 13, at Birdine AME Zion Church, Forkland. The Rev. Dr. Thomas E. Gilmore officiated. Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors were entrusted with arrangements.

Delaney Jones-Williams

Delaney Jones-Williams, 87, of Ft. Wayne, Ind., formerly of Uniontown, died March 5, 2004 in Ft. Wayne.

Services were held Saturday, March 13, at First Baptist Church, Uniontown. The Rev. Moses Jones officiated. Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors were entrusted with arrangements.

Johnny Lucky

Johnny “Tar” Lucky died recently.

He is survived by a wife, Sara Ann Lucky; daughter Queen (Robert); four sons, Lee James (Mary); John (Bettie), Jeffrey, all of Marion; Billy, of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; two sisters, Evella Atkins, Joliet, Ill.; Lourene Moreu, Chicago; brother, Amzie (Eva), Marion; three sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Johnson, Dannette Holifield, both of Marion; Ora Curry (Porland), Ft. Wayne; 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
