Shelby to host meeting

Sen. Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala.) will address Dallas County residents at a town meeting on Monday, March 15, at 7:30 a.m. in the Carl C. Morgan Convention Center.

According to Claire Twardy, executive director of the Selma-Dallas County Chamber of Commerce, reservations for those who intend to eat breakfast are required and may be made by calling her office (334) 875-7241.

Twardy said that Shelby will discuss his legislative agenda for the second session of the 108th Congress, along with important issues facing the nation and the state of Alabama.

Following prepared remarks, the floor will be opened to questions and comments from the audience.

Shelby has held more than 1,000 county meetings since being elected to the Senate. He holds at least one meeting in every Alabama county each year.

The public is invited to Monday’s town meeting. Those not planning to eat do not need to make a reservation.
