Johnny Marvin Brown

Johnny Marvin Brown, 68, of Selma, died Monday, March 8, 2004, at a local hospital.

Graveside services are at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 11, at New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Anne Brown; daughters, Robin Floyd, Lisa Degen, Donna Pock and Michelle McCrea; son, Jay Brown; step-sons, Doug Buster and Robert Buster; sisters, Sue Akins, Evelyn Woodard, Lena McMichael, Marian Brown, Dottie Brown and Jackie Gibson; and 13 grandchildren.

Active pallbearers are grandsons.

Family visitation will be from

7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, at Lawrence Funeral Home.

Betty Hand Taylor

Betty Hand Taylor, 67, of Andalusia, formerly of Selma, died Monday, March 8, 2004, at a Birmingham hospital.

Services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 11, at the Chapel of Forman Funeral Home in Andalusia.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 11, at Old Live Oak Cemetery in Selma, with Forman Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his sister, Beverly (Jerry) Denney of Columbiana; niece, Sherry Denney of Columbiana; nephews, Steve Denney of Columbiana, AL (Peggy) Krunosky of Enterprise and Richard (Julie) Krunosky of Selma; great-nephews, Lance and Michael Krunosky.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Dewey Taylor Jr. of Selma and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Hand of Andalusia.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, at Foreman Funeral Home.

Mrs. Taylor, a Judson graduate, taught Spanish and English for a number of years. Her early teaching was at Parrish High School and Southside High School. She was also a published poet.

Morris Phillips

Morris &8220;Gee Gee&8221; Phillips, 38, of Selma, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at a local hospital.

Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 11, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Elder Willie Green officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include five sisters, Edna Towns of Birmingham, Bessie Phillips, Johnnie Mae Garner and Debra Phillips all of Selma and Josephine (Willie) Green of Birmingham; a devoted grandmother, Eula Mosley; sister-in-law, Mattie Phillips; nephews and nieces and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jessie Lewis Phillips.

Active pallbearers are nephews and friends.

Mr. Phillips was born on Jan. 13, 1966, the eighth child of the late Mr. and Mrs. Agee Phillips Sr. He confessed Christ at an early age and united with Bethlehem Baptist

Church where he remained faithful until his death.

Morris was known by many as &8220;Gee Gee&8221; and loved for his smile, laughter and hard work.

Julia Brown

Julia Brown, 86, formerly of White Hall, died Friday, March 5, 2004, in Milledceville, Ga.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home.
