The Dallas County Lady Hornet’s opened their opened the 2004 season with an 11-1 win over LAMP of Montgomery Saturday.

Jessica Melton picked up the win on the mound.

She went five innings and gave up just two hits.

Dallas County scored 11 runs on nine hits.

Melton and Camellia Morrow each got two hits.

Ashley Wilson, Kendall Simmons, Tiffany Ingram, Samerra McGhee and Arlena Kittlew got one hit each.

The Hornets play again Tuesday at Montevallo.

Lady Trojans split double-header

Playing Taylor Road, Meadowview coach Rick Raines and his Lady Trojans split a double-header Friday afternoon.

Meadowview took the first game, 4-1.

Micah Lawley was the winning pitcher for Meadowview with four strikeouts.

It was her first win of season.

Haley McIntyre and Carol Ann McIntyre had two hits each

in the winning effort.

Casey Burton had one hit for Meadowview.

Brittany Cox had two hits for Taylor Road.

In the second game, Meadowview lost 5-3. Taylor Road’s Kayla Mize was the winning pitcher.

Elyse McIntyre took her first loss. Haley McIntyre had a triple and E. McIntyre and Amber Curtain had singles.
