Rams roll past T.S. Miller
In a rematch of last year’s Sub-Regional game, Francis Marion traveled to T.S Miller Friday night to renew acquaintances.
Coach Woodie Jackson and his Francis Marion Rams proved to be unwelcome guests as they ended Miller’s season, 55-38.
In a defensive first half, the Rams battled without their best inside player Brian Moore who is out for the year.
Marion took an 11-10 lead after the first quarter.
Jackson said the veteran Miller team played tough in the first half, adding that four of the starters played on last season’s team.
But Jackson’s veterans were ready to play as well.
Marion led 27-17 at the half, and 37-28 after three quarters.
Super senior Julius Allgood had 14 points, 12 rebounds,
three blocks and
Point guard James Hogue had 10 points,
four rebounds, two steals and three assists.
Coach Jackson said Jeremy Arrington played a solid game.
He had nine points, five rebounds, two steals and three assists.
Courtney Sewell overcame foul trouble and had all eight of his points in the first half .
On Wednesday morning in Mobile, the Rams will renew a rivalry with another foe from last season. B.B. Comer, the team that eliminated the Rams on a last second putback awaits.
Jackson and his team will begin work Sunday to prevent that from happening again.
The Rams will leave Tuesday to begin getting ready for the big game.
