Freddie J. Crawford
Freddie J. Crawford, of Selma, died February 13, 2004, at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.
Services are scheduled for February 17, 2004, at 11 a.m. in Pineview Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Darryl Moore. Lewis Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of the services.
Survivors include a son Don Ryan Crawford’ a sister, Eloise J. Walton; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Frank Ford
Frank Ford, 77, of Sardis, February 11, 2004, at a local hospital.
Services are scheduled for February 17, 2004, 1 p.m. at New Shiloh Baptist Church-Sardis, officiated by the Rev. S.E. Tullis. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include son, Donald Brown, of Detroit, Mich.; a nephew, Jerry Porter, Sardis; an aunt Mattie Moore, of Cincinnati, Ohio; an uncle, Eddie Porter, Detroit, Mich.; three sisters, Donnie B. Ford, Julia Ford and Rosa Ford Porter, all of Sardis.
Active pallbearers include friends of the family.
Mr. Ford confessed to Christ at an early age. He was an active member and trustee with New Shiloh Baptist Church until his health failed. He was a farmer and outdoorsman all his life and a Master Mason affiliated with David Hall Lodge #154.
He was preceded in death by parents Maceo and Anna Ford and his sisters: Irene and Geneva Ford.
The body will lie in state at the church from noon until.
Cynthia Sue Henry
Cynthia Sue Henry, 55, of Northport, died February 13, 2004, at her home.
Graveside services will be held Monday, February 16, 2004, at 11 a.m., at the Williamson City Cemetery, in Northport. The Rev. Randy Fuller.
Ms. Henry was preceded in deat by her father, Patrick Anthony Henry Sr.
Survivors include two daughters, Micnilyn (Richard) Brown, Northport; Laura (Brett) Sprayberry, Northport; a sister Karen Henry, Lafayette, La.; a brother, Anthony Henry, Linden; mother Ruth Henry, Northport and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Richard Brown, Brett Sprayberry, Anthony Henry, Shane Henry, Bryan LeBlanc and Scott LeBlanc.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to New Beginnings Family Worship Center or Northport Baptist.
Skip Phillips
Skip Phillips, 86, of Selma, died February 13, 2004, in Houston, Texas.
J.H. Williams and Sons will announce funeral arrangements at a later date.
Ruth Gates Tipton
Ruth Gates Tipton, 87, of Selma, died February 13, 2004, at a local hospital.
She is survived by one son William (Ashlyn) Tipton III, Decatur; one daughter, Pat (Jimmy) Wade, Selma, one brother, Jack (Elanor) Gates, Largo, Fla.; two sisters, Mae Adair, Homosassa Springs, Fla.; Bettye Reed, Tampa, Fla.; five granchildren and five great-grandchildren.
There will be no public services.

Murvis Etta Davis
Murvis Etta Davis. 81, died Thursday, February 12, 2004.
Services were held on Saturday, February 14, at the Chapel of Selma Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Raspberry and the Rev. John Ingram officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in Stanton.
Survivors include two sons, Ed Davis (Vicki) of Letohatchee an d H. Ronnie Davis (Melody) of Selma; four daughters, Shirley Bush (Clay) of Pelham, Mary Ann Payne of Stanton, Sandra Gail Rhodes of Lawley; and Jean Christian (Paul) of Selma; one brother, Willard Sewell (Nell) of Selma; five sisters, Dee Maurer of Selma, Murrell Tucker of Covington, Ky., Ethelene Mitchell of Selma, Alberta Nichols (Earnest) of Memphis, Tenn., and Shelby Jean Hale (Glenn) of Biloxi, Miss.; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were Matthew Davis, Christopher Moore, Daryl Payne, Ron Edwards Davis, Tony Smith and Shane Davis.
Evelyn Edwards Farish
Evelyn Edwards Farish, 95, of Prattville died Thursday, February 12, 2004, at a healthcare facility in Dothan.
A Mass of Christian burial officiated by Father Philip McKenna, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 14, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial followed in New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Gail F. and
Frank Johnson of Prattville, Evelyn F. and Press Thornton of Dothan and Sheila Bonner of Atlanta, Ga.; one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Sam E. and Janet Farish of Atlanta, Ga.; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward King Farish.
Active pallbearers were her grandsons.

Ralph W. Cain
Ralph w. Cain, 74, of Selma, died Thursday, February 12, 2004, at a Montgomery hospital.
Services are at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 15, at the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Stover officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Cain of Selma; son, Ralph “Bill” W. Cain II of Ohio; daughter, Martha (Dave) Griffin of Sharon, Ohio; granddaughter, April (Bob) Sears; grandson, Charley (Minnie) Griffin; great-grandchildren, bobby Sears, Mercedes Sykes, Brian Sykes, Daesha Pritchard, Charley Griffin Jr. and Caelin Griffin; sisters, Pauline Jones of New York and Esther Selders of Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Gideons.
