David Lowe

David Lowe, 52, of Selma, died Friday, January 23, 2004, at his home.

Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 29, at the Chapel of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Willie Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie Lowe; three sons, David Lowe Jr., Michael Lowe and Jimmy Lowe; one daughter, Cinda Lowe; four brothers, Willie Lowe, Frank Lowe of Selma, Sam Lowe of Syracuse, N.Y., and Johnny Lowe of Maine; five sisters, Shirley (Willie) Davidson of Queens, N.Y., Geneva Johnson, Rachel A. Lowe, Stephanie Lee and Mary Lowe of Selma; nine grandchildren; one son-in-law; three daughters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and one sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Mae Lowe and Sam Lowe.

Cecil Rogers

Cecil Rogers, 58, formerly of Selma, died Wednesday, January 21, 2004, at a Tuscaloosa hospital.

Services are at 12 noon Thursday, January 29, at the Chapel of J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Rodney Morton officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his daughter, Chelsea Yolanda Rogers and two grandchildren, Barbara Jesscia Morgan and Anna-Maria Denee Rogers of Tuscaloosa; two sisters, Louvenia Cade and Mary Ellen Boykin both of Selma; three brothers, William &8220;Bill&8221; Rogers and George C. Rogers both of Nyack, N.Y., Louis Thomas (Elizabeth) Rogers of Milton, Fla.; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Mary B. Rogers, three brothers, Pete Jr., James and Benjamin, and two sisters, Juanita Ransom and Elizabeth Kirlpatrick.

Mr. Rogers was baptized at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Selma. He enlisted in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War. He was a brick mason by trade, and he spent his latter years in the care of Gloria Martin of Tuscaloosa.

Willie L. Ishman

Willie L. Ishman, 85, of Selma, died Tuesday, January 27, 2004, at a local hospital.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home.
