Monroe Academy holds off Meadowview

On the road Saturday, the Meadowview boys came up short against Monroe Academy, losing 63-59.
Bonner Williams led Monroe with 14 points and Colby Mixon had 12 points for the winners.
Leading for Meadowview, John Robert Morton had 30 and Bryant Barnes scored 9. Chris Sewell and Dustin Lee had 8 each.
The Trojans fouled and Monroe hit enough at the line to hand on for the win.
The Trojans tried for a late three to tie things up but Raines said after the game he wished he’d sent in a different play.
Wilcox won an area game over Escambia Saturday night, 68-56. Michael Williams led with 20 points and 15 rebounds.
Selma JV- 52
Coach Herman Turner’s B-team improved to 14-2 on the season with a 52-31 win over the Keith Bears Saturday night at Selma.
Cameron Turner scored 9 points and pulled down 6 rebounds to lead the effort.
Washington Reese, Curtis Thomas, Quinn Pernell and Anthony Harrison all contributed six points in the win.
