Eddie Lee Jones

Eddie Lee Jones, 58, of Selma, died Thursday, January 8, 2004, at a Marion nursing home.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 17, at Mt. Zion P.B. Church with Elder Bryan Starks officiating. Burial will follow in New Pernell Church Cemetery with J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include god parents, William and Louvenia Green; special friend and caregiver, Margaret S. Thomas; on e brother, Arthur Lee Riddles; three sisters Annie Moseley, Ruthie Mae Holmes and Ella Mae Holmes; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Jones and Daisy Jones.

Active pallbearers are Old School Truck Club.

Dorothy Jean Parfitt McWilliams

Dorothy Jean Parfitt McWilliams, 83, of Jones, died Wednesday January 14, 2004.

Service were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 15, at the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Pastor Clyde Smith officiating. Burial followed in New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include a daughter, Darlene (Charles) Sumner; brother, Keith Parfitt of Troy, Wis.; sisters, Virginia Janke of Oxford, Wis., Esther Krause of Cottonwood, Ariz., Joyce Wells of Loma Linda, Calif., Arlene Hill of Menomonee Falls of Wis., Muriel Polk of Camp Verde, Ariz., and Kathy Edwards of Prescott, Ariz.; brother and sister-in-law, Jeanne and Wade Lowe of Avondale Estates, Ga.; and many much loved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Blake McWilliams Jr.

Mrs. McWilliams was a RN who dedicated 35 years to nursing. She moved 25 years ago with her husband to Jones, to enjoy country living. She and her husband were members of Clanton Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Jewell Wallace Nichols

Jewell Wallace Nichols, 79, of Orrville, died Wednesday, January 14, 2004, at a Selma hospital.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 17, at the Chapel of Kirk Funeral Homes of Marion with the Rev. Bradley Averette officiating. Burial will follow in Ephesus Cemetery with Kirk Funeral Homes of Marion directing.

Survivors include one son, Glenn Nichols (Sue Ellen) of Tennessee; two daughters, Kathryn Phillips (James) of Orrville and Patricia Colburn of Randolph; two brothers, Bill Wallace (Tootsie) of Heiberger and Joe Wallace of Selma; four sisters, Margaret Nichols (R.V.) of Marion, Dorothy Barkman (Albert) of Selma, Martha Wallace of Marion and Pat Stewart (Don) of Moundville; 10 grandchildren; 17 grandchildren.

Active pallbearers are Chris Phillips, Jamie Phillips, Larry Colburn, Alan Nichols, Blake Friday and Tim Crumpton.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Mildred Lavonia Pritchard

Mildred Lavonia Pritchard, of Selma, died Wednesday, January 14, 2004, at her home.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 17, at First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. John Shipman and the Rev. Larry Stover officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn and a loving and devoted son-in-law, Andy Andrews of Selma; niece, Hazel Herrod of Selma; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Pritchard, a daughter, Gloria Arnold, and a sister, Mable Pigg.

Active pallbearers are grandsons and members of the church.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Willie Gene McMeans

Willie Gene McMeans, 73, of Ft. Deposit, died Monday, January 12, 2004.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 17, at Cloverhill Baptist Church with the Rev. John Jones and the Rev. Randy Tolliver officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.

Willie Robinson

Willie Robinson, 81, of Hayneville, died Friday, January 9, 2004.

Services are at 12 noon Saturday, January 17, at Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. E. Washington officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.

Gatsy Brond

Gatsy Brond, 98, of Marion, died Thursday, January 8, 2004, at a Selma hospital.

Services were held on Thursday, January 15, at Mt. Tabo AME Church in Marion. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Lee & Rollins Funeral Home directing.

Annie H. Green

Annie H. Green, 92, of Marion died Thursday, January 8, 2004, at a Birmingham hospital.

Services are Saturday, January 17, at Marion Baptist Academy with the Rev. Carlton Hogue officiating. Burial will follow in the Morning Star Cemetery with Lee & Rollins Funeral Home directing.

Jimmy Childs Sr.

Jimmy Childs Sr., 71, of Marion, died Saturday, January 11, 2004, at his home.

Services are at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 17, at Marion Baptist Academy. Burial will follow in Mt. Marratt Cemetery in Marion with Lee & Rollins Funeral Home directing.

Elmer Hood, 65, of Faunsdale, died Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at his home

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan 17, at Little Zion Baptist Church, Faunsdale, with the Rev. W.J. Morton and the Rev. Leroy Walker officiating. Burial will follow in First Baptist Church, Faunsdale, with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.

Johnny Lucy Sr.

Johnny Lucy Sr., died Thursday, January 8, 2004, at a Mobile nursing home.

Services are at 12 noon Saturday, January 17, at El Shaddai A.O.H. Church of God, Dixon Mills with Elder Gregory Lucy officiating. Burial will follow in Polly Robinson Cemetery with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.

Family visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, at the church

The body will lie in state at the church beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Dock Rainey Sr.

Dock Rainey Sr., 92, of Forkland, died Saturday, January 10. 2004, at a Demopolis nursing home.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 17, at Old Green Oak Baptist Church, Forkland, with the Rev. James Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Cassimore Cemetery, Greensboro, with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.

The body will lie in state at the church beginning at 12 noon.
