The holidays are in full swing.
It’s time for Christmas parties, bowl games, egg nog and St. Nick.
But another holiday tradition will tip off tonight in Orrville as the Keith Bears and Lady Bears will play host to the two-day Dallas County Schools’ Christmas Tournament.
Four teams will compete in
boys and girls brackets starting Friday at 3:30 p.m.
Southside will face Central-Hayneville to kick off the tournament.
At 5 p.m., fans will get a re-match of Tuesday’s down-to-the-wire game between the Lady Bears of Keith and Roxanne Jones’ Lady Hornets of Dallas County.
At 6:30 p.m. coach Velton Robinson’s scrappy Southside team will face a Central squad that has beaten Wilcox-Central and RC Hatch already this year.
In the night cap, Dallas County will get another shot at Keith on the Bears’ home floor.
The Bears won easily Tuesday night, but coach Bill Porter Jr.’s team won’t go quietly in the rematch.
On Saturday, the tournament wraps up with the girls consolation game at 3:30 p.m.
The boys consolation will be at 5 p.m.
The girls championship game will start at about 6:30 p.m. and the boys will play at roughly 8 p.m.
An All-Tournament team will be named for both the boys and girls squads.
