Betty Lou Wood Broadhead
Betty Lou Wood Broadhead, 66, of Selma, died Monday, October 13, 2003, at a Shelby county hospital.
Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 16, at the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Fancher and Dr. Kenny Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Broadhead; daughters, Becky Broadhead, Charlene (Terry)Hughes and Sharon (Mike) Morrison; sister, Margaret Champion; grandchildren, Stacy (George) Humphryes, Nikki Hughes, Heather Hughes, Hailey Morrison and Lauren Morrison; and a great-grandson, Grathen Humphryes.
Active pallbearers are R.O. Weeden, Jack Morrison, Ray Champion, Rick Champion, Don Jones and Hubert Champion III.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Jessie Jackson Jr.
Jessie Jackson Jr., 49, of Tishabee Community, Boligee, died Thursday, October 9, 2003, at his home.
Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, at Christian Valley Baptist Church, Boligee, with the Rev. William Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Taylor Place Cemetery, Boligee with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.
Magdaline Britt, 83, of Demopolis, died Thursday, October 9, 2003, at a nursing home in Demopolis.
Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, at Memorial Cemetery , Demopolis, with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.
Aaron Lee Jr.
M.Sgt. Aaron Lee Jr., 45, of Atlanta, Ga., formerly of Coatopa, died Thursday, October 9, 2003, at a Georgia hospital.
Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, at Bethel-Pine Baptist Church in Coatopa, with the Rev. Floyd Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery in Coatopa with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.
The body will lie in state at the church beginning at 12 noon.
Bruce I. Gray
Bruce I. Gray, 35, of Selma, died Thursday, October 9, 2003, at a local hospital.
Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 18, at St. Paul C.M. Church, 826 Choctaw Avenue, with the Rev. Arthur Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Benton Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife Doris Mae Gray; one daughter, Ambernique of Selma; three step-children; his mother Doris Gray; two sisters, Ruth Gray and Dorothy Marzette both of Selma; four brothers, Peter McDowell, Henry (Johnny Mae) Gray, Willie (Paralee) Gray all of Selma; Jeremiah (Rena) Gray of Birmingham; eight brothers in-law; six sisters in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers are best friends.
Flowers are friends and family.
Mr. Gray, was born on Oct. 24,1967, the son of Doris Gray and the late Charlie Goings. He attended Dallas County Schools, and grew up in Selma. As a young adult, he trusted Christ as his personal Savior and attended the St. Paul Community, Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was willing to help them in any way he could. He loved the Lord and his community. The Family is truly grateful to God for allowing them to enjoy their beloved one’s time and to cherish the fond memories.
