CHAT Academy and Martin middle each pull out victories

In a battle of inter-county rivals, CHAT Academy downed Tipton Middle School Tuesday night at Memorial Park, 14-6.

Things got off to an exciting start as defensive back Rakeem Harris snagged a Tipton pass and took it the other way 48 yards for the touchdown.

Tipton tied the score at six, but CHAT battled back again.

Tarius Richardson hit Markell Jemison with a 17-yard TD pass with 2:47 left to play.

Richardson hit Justin Moorer for the two-point conversion and the lead was 14-6.

Big Terrell Roper led the offensive line opening holes for the CHAT Bulldogs. He also had four tackles on defense.

Moorer added six tackles, two assists and 42 yards rushing.

Javarius Smith had three tackles, two for loss and four assists.

Herman olds added three tackles and four assists.

Punt returner Courtney Morgan was solid of defense as well with five tackles.

With his return yardage, the Bulldog had 85 total yards.

Demius Jackson’s 15-yard TD run and Anthony Caver’s 83-yard kickoff return proved to be the difference as Martin Middle downed Bibb County on Tuesday.

Caver added an interception and 31 yards on the ground.

Jacob Paxton led the ground attack with 70 yards for Martin.

Jackson added 37 yards on the ground and Chris Jones ran for 21.

Durrall Laster led the defense with six tackles and a fumble recovery.

Michael Bruno and Paxton added five tackles each.

Jeremy Ellis, a Martin defensive standout was hurt in the game and was unable to return.

Martin plays at home against Tipton Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m.
