Carrie Lewis

Carrie Lewis, 99, of Selma, died, Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at a nursing home.

Services are at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 29, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. George Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Lily Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her husband, William Lewis Sr.; two sons, Edward Lewis of Harvey, Ill., and Clifton (Pearl) Lewis of Maywood, Ill.; one daughter, Rosa Gibbs of Compton, Calif.; four brothers, Freddie Gardner, Bernard Gardner, William James Gardner and Robert Gardner of Selma; four sisters, Emma T. Davis of Selma, Ida Mae McDowell, Francis Baymon and Willie Mae Jackson; 21 grandchildren; 84 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers are family and friends.

Family visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Saturday, at Miller Funeral Home.

Earnest Thomas Sr.

Earnest Thomas Sr., 75, of Uniontown, died Thursday, June 19, 2003 at a Montgomery hospital.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Shady Grove M.B. Church, Uniontown, with the Rev. James Murdock officiating. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery in Uniontown with Julia L. White Funeral Home directing.

Corine Hunter Wellington

Corine Hunter Wellington, died Sunday, June 22, 2003, at a local hospital.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at New Shiloh Baptist Church, 5990 Co. Rd. 30, Sardis, with the Rev. Isiah Haile officiating and Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her beloved children George Hunter (Phyllis) of Fairbanks Alas., AC, Hunter (Ethel) Selma, Maryanne (Jonathan) Smith of Chicago Ill., David Hunter (Sharon) of Selma and Earnest Wellington of Sweetport, La.; sisters Anna (Albert) Landers of Sardis, Willie Lee Hunter and Mary Wagner of Florida; 13 grandchildren seven great-grand children; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by five brothers one sister, Minnie Rivers, Sam Hunter, William Hunter, Palmer man Hunter, Tommie Hunter and Garland Hunter.

Mrs. Wellington, was the daughter of the late Horace and Minnie Hunter. She was born on April 1, 1929 in Sardis.

In October of 1963, she was conjoined in marriage to Emmett Wellington, who preceded her in death. This marriage was blessed with five children.

She was a member of New Shiloh Baptist Church, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

Marion Anderson Schultz

Marion Anderson Schultz, 91, of Valley Grande, died Thursday, June 26, 2003, at her home.

Survivors include one son, Karl Anderson Schultz of Cal; daughters, Lucille S. Collins Sanders M.D. of Valley Grande and Frances Eugenia Schultz of France; sister, Helen A. Truscott of Selma; cousin, Frances Cosman of New York; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Family visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, at Lawrence Funeral Home

A memorial service will be announced.

Annie Carter-May

Annie Carter-May, 83, of Boligee, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at her home.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Christian Valley Baptist Church in Boligee, with the Rev. Willis Gulley officiating. Burial will follow in Taylor Place Cemetery, Boligee, with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.
