Zannie M. Tolbert
Zannie M. Tolbert, 90, of Dallas County, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.
Services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Thursday, May 29, at Providence Baptist Church with Pastor Timothy Stromas officiating. Burial will follow in Sandridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home officiating.
Survivors include one son, David Tolbert of Mount Meigs; one daughter, Emma Lee Tolbert of Selma; two brothers, A.C. Tolbert of Riverfalls and Henry Tolbert of Birmingham; three sisters, Lula Retic and Georgia McKinney, both of Magnolia and Mennie King of St. Louis, Mo; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers are the nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are Glenton Davis, the staff of Vaughan Regional Medical Center and the staff of Dunn Nursing Home.
Audrey Lanier Wilson Carlisle
Audrey Lanier Wilson Carlisle, 76, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at a local hospital.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2003, in New Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Odean Johnson officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include two sons, Gary (Connie) Wilson of Selma and Tommy (Jill) Wilson of Boone, N.C.; one sister, Norma Chauncey of Ocala, Fla.; five grandchildren, Leah Blayne (Kyle) Kirby of Mobile, Brice Lanier (Michelle) Wilson of Atlanta, Jeffrey Bender (Mandy) Wilson of Raleigh, N.C., Heather Wilson (Jay) Smith of Selma and James Roland Ruff of Gulf Shores; five great-grandchildren; and life-long friend, Elizabeth Whitt.
Mrs. Carlisle was preceded in death by her two husbands, Thomas G. Wilson Jr. and John Richard Carlisle; and a sister, Christine Smith.
Active pallbearers will be Brice Wilson, Jeffrey Wilson, Jay Smith, Kyle Kirby, Dean Wilson Jr. and Gordon Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roland Ellison, Julian Howell, David Hodo, Crawford Caine, Brice Thorne and Dean Wilson Sr.
The family requests flowers be omitted and suggests donations to one’s favorite charity.
The family will receive friends at Lawrence Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27.
