Cloverleafs hold invitation-only try-out

The Selma Cloverleafs took a step towards completing their roster Sunday morning with an invitation-only try-out at Bloch Park.
Nearly 20 young ball players showed up to try and earn a roster spot for the Southeastern Professional League team.
Jason Morgan, who played college ball at Tennessee Temple in Chattanooga, turned heads with a rocket arm but how he performed at the plate will make the difference.
With 15 players already signed, General Manager Steve Nichols came into the try-out looking for more pitching and a catcher as well as position players that could swing the lumber.
Morgan said trying out for a team is as tough as playing in front of the crowd.
A lucky few will get to sign a contract and join the Cloverleafs in hopes of fulfilling a life-long dream.
The Cloverleafs open at home Thursday, May 29.
