Morgan 81,

On their last regularly scheduled game for the season, the Morgan Academy Varsity boys took out

the Kingwood Lions on Tuesday night, 81-42.

The Senators took advantage of mistakes made by the Lions and turrned them into points.

Taking care of the points for the Senators were Owen Peak with 14 points, Reid Tolar with 10 points, RIck Brignac and Thomas Glover both with nine points, and Allen Callaway and Eric Pilcher each with eight points.

Francis Marion 74, Sunshine 64

Francis Marion ended the regular season on a good note with a win over Sunshine, 74-64, on Tuesday night.

Lead scorers for Francis Marion were Julius Allgood with 24 points, five rebounds and two assists and Jeremy Arrington with 12 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals.

The Francis Marion seniors also played their final regular season game with flare. Kedrick Bates had 10 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. Andrew Lee had nine points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Jonathan Turner had six rebounds, two points and two blocks.

Francis Marion ended up with an overall record of 21-7 with a 3-1 area record. They will play Aliceville High School Saturday at 6 p.m. in the area tournament at Sumter County High School.

Wilcox Academy 54, Monroe 34

The Wilcox Academy Wildcats took on the Monroe Academy Volunteers Monday night in Camden. The Wildcats prevail over the Volunteers 54-34, in the game. With the win the Wildcats improve to 11-8 on the year.

The Wildcats were led in scoring by Michael Riggs with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Bain Henderson finished the night with 14 points.

The Wildcats next game will be against South Choctaw in the Area tournament beginning Thursday night.

Mens College

WCCS 89,

MMI 42

The Wallace Community College Patriots continued their recent winning streak knocking off MMI Monday night 89-42. With the win the Patriots overall record improves to 5-8 and they are 4-4 in conference play. The Tigers fall to 0-16 on the year and 0-8 in conference play.

The Patriots were never in danger during the ball game. They managed to jump out to a 45-23 half-time lead, and they cruised on from there.

The Patriots were led by James Cleveland with 15 points in the game. Timothy Love finished the night with 15 points, and Mitch Garret had 12 points in the game.

The Patriots will travel to Tuscaloosa to take on Shelton State on Thursday night.

Morgan 59,

Kingwood 30

The Morgan Academy Lady Senators finished up the regular season on a high note defeating the Kingwood Christian 59-30 Tuesday night. With the win it gives the Lady Senators a final regular record of 16-4, and they finished second in their region.

The lady Senators were led by Mallory Jones with 12 points. Sarah wood also finished the game with 12 points and she picked up five rebounds. Laura Morris had a strong game picking up 11 points and four assists. Katie Taylor had eight points and seven rebounds on the night. Sam Yeager finished the game with six points. Hayden Casey finished with 11 rebounds in the game, and Elizabeth Elliot had five rebounds and three steals.

The Senators will travel to Ft. Dale to take on Pike in the first round of the area tournament Friday night.

Meadowview 42, Hooper Academy 40

After finish up last season with just three wins the Meadowview Christian Lady Trojans have turned this season around. They finished up regular season play Tuesday night by defeating Hooper Academy 42-40. With the win the Lady Trojans improved their record to 19-7 on the year and 5-1 in the area.

The Lady Trojans were led by Haley McIntyre with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Sheena Steward finished up with 15 points, and Danielle Welch had 3 points in the game.

The Lady Trojans will take Bessemer Academy at Jefferson Christian in the first round of the area championship Friday night at 6:30 p.m.

Selma High 57, Prattville 39

The Selma High Lady Saints pulled off the big win in the first round of the area championship Tuesday night defeating Prattville 57-39. The lady Saints will move on to play Jeff Davis in the second round of the tournament Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

The Lady Saints were led by Jennifer Mayo with 30 points in the game. Kimberly Wilson had nine points, and Tracy Thomas finished up the night with eight points.

Meadowview 43, Lowndes Academy 20

The Meadowview Christian Lady Trojans defeated the Lowndes Academy Lady Rebels on Monday night 43-20. With the win the Lady Trojans move one step closer to finishing the regular season.

The Lady Trojans were led by Haley McIntyre with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and five blocked shots. Sheena Steward finished up the night with 14 points and five rebounds. Elise McIntyre had three points on the night, and Jonie Lawrence finished the game with two points.

Wilcox Central 61, Southside 57

The Wilcox Central Lady Jaguars finished off their regular season with a win over Southside High School Tuesday night.

Although Southside crept pretty close to Wilcox Central at times, they were never able to take the upperhand, with the final score being 61-37.

Lead scorers for Wilcox Central were Ashley Welch with 16 points, Sheroncia Finklea with 14 points and Shakira Arnold with 12 points. Southside’s lead scorers were Keisha Townes with 16 points and Letti Hasberry with 15 points.

This leaves Wilcox Central with an overall record of 20-4. Their next game will be in the area tournament against Charles Henderson in Greenville on Friday night

Junior Varsity Girls

Morgan 36,

Kingwood 7

The Morgan Academy junior varsity girls got the big win over Kingwood at home Tuesday night 36-7.

The Senators were led in scoring by Elizabeth Wood with six points and five rebounds, and Allison Peak had six points and four steals in the game. Kaiser Youngblood and Ally Bradford each finished the night with four points. Coming up big defensively for the Senators was Cursey Oaks and Anne Larken Oaks. Cursey Oaks had six rebounds and five steals, and Anne Larken Oaks had four rebounds.

Meadowview 25,

Hooper Academy 22

The Meadowview Christian junior varsity girls finished their season on a high note defeating Hooper Academy 25-22 Tuesday night.

Danielle Welch led the Trojans with nine points, and Casey Burton finished the night with five points. Elise McIntyre and Devan Altman each had four points in the game, and Sarah Biddle finished with three points.

Junior Varsity Boys

Morgan 44,

Kingwood 27

The junior varsity Senators were also successful in their last game for the season, defeating the Lions 44-27.

Scoring for the Senators was handled by Ben Callaway with 12 points, Brandon Simmons with 10 points, Blake Smith with six points.
