Estelle Warren Pickering
Estelle Warren Pickering, 80, of Plantersville, died Monday, February 2, 2004, at her home.
Graveside services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, at Plantersville Christian Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Golson officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include her sons, Robert (Joan) Pickering of Brashear, Texas and Harvey (Lisa) Pickering of Plantersville; daughters, Peggy (Jerry) Scott of Foley and Miriam (Robert) Sammons of Selma; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Pickering was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Earl Pickering.
Active pallbearers are Bill Peek, Bryan Pickering, Shannon Pickering, Brandon Pickering, Jay HawThorne and Greg Patton.
Alvin Turner
Alvin Turner, 77, of Camden, died February 2, 2004.
Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 5, at Camden United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ron Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Camden Cemetery with Dunklin-Herndon Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Doris M. Turner of Camden; daughter, Carolyn Turner Carroll (James) of Tucker, Ga.; granddaughters, Tara Leigh Duncan (Michael) of Canton, Ga., Dania Moody (Keith) of Holly Springs, Ga., and Lea Sanders of Vale, Colo.; brother, Hubert Turner (Frances) of Fairhope; and nieces and nephews.
The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
The family request omission of flowers. Memorials may be made to Camden United Methodist Church Building Fund or a favorite charity.
Josephine Bradford McKenzie
Josephine Bradford McKenzie, 97, of Selma, died Tuesday, February 3, 2004, at her home.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Lawrence Funeral Home.
