Saints fall in overtime

Selma High 74
Selma High School lost to Ramsey Tuesday night in overtime.
The two schools were deadlocked 68-68 when the regulation game ended, but Ramsey took the overtime as a chance to get ahead and ended up defeating Selma High 81-74.
The Saints record drops to 10-7.
Lead scorers were Miguel Harris with 20 points, Jai Miller with 17 points, Brandon Davis with 13 points and Robert Allen with 11 points.
The junior varsity team did not make out much better with Ramsey defeating the Saints 43-40.
Lead scorers was John Daily with 16 points, Malcom Clinton with 8 points and T. Chetio Woods and Robert Childress both with 6 points.
Selma High will host Jeff Davis Friday night and Southside on Saturday.
Games both days start 4:30 p.m.
Wilcox Academy 60, Clarke Prep Academy 44
Clarke Prep didn’t have a chance.
Wilcox Academy seized the reins of the game Tuesday night at the start of the first quarter and did not let go of them until well after the game ended. Wilcox was up by 13 points at the end of the first quarter 16-3. Clarke eventually shortened that lead down to only five points by the end of the third quarter, but Wilcox Academy took off ahead once more and ended up taking the game.
Leading scorers were Michael Riggs with 23 points and 10 rebounds and Bain Henderson.
Wilcox Academy improves to 6-6 for the year and will play South Choctaw Friday night in Camden at 7 p.m.
MMI 76,
Marion Academy 48
The MMI tigers picked up their 10th win of the year Tuesday night in Marion, knocking off Marion Academy 76-48. With the win the Tigers improve their record to 10-1 on the year.
Leading the way for the Tigers was Douglas Fitzgerald with 25 points and 12 rebounds. David Coleman had 20 points on the night, and Javoris Smith had 13 points on the night for the Tigers.
R.C Hatch 83,
Keith 59
The R.C. Hatch Bobcats defeated the Keith High Bears Tuesday night in Uniontown 83-59.
The Bears jumped out to an early lead
Leading the way for the Bears was Chris Murray with 29 points in the loss. Cedrick Jones finished with 10, and Charels Jones had 11points on the evening.
Montevallo 61, Dallas County 59
The Dallas County Hornets
dropped a close one Tuesday night in Montevallo 61-59.
Leading the way for the Hornets was Clifford Lyons with 21 points. Donovan Dixon alss had a strong performance putting up 13 points on the night.
The Dallas County Hornets will take on Holt on Friday night in Plantersville.
Monroe 50,
Meadowview 46
The Meadowview Christian Trojans took on the Monroe Academy Volunteers Monday night in what turned out to be a close game all the way down the stretch. The Volunteers pulled ahead late in the game going 8 of 14 from the free throw line.
Leading the way for the Trojans was John Robert Morton with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Robert Blackmon also had an outstanding evening putting up 14 points, and snagging 17 rebounds. Ryan Stephens finished the night with 11 points and eight assist.
R.C. Hatch 67,
Keith High 50
R.C. Hatch walked away with a win over the girls from Keith High on Tuesday night.
Lead scorers for R.C. Hatch were Sierra Miller with 26 points, Michelle Paige and Tiffanie Lewis both with 10 points and LaToya Paige with 8 points. The next game for R.C. Hatch is on Jan. 21.
Meadowview 42, Kingwood Christian 40
The Meadowview Christian girls squeaked by Kingwood Christian to keep a spotless area record on Tuesday night.
Lead scorers Haley McIntyre with 19 points, 15 rebound sand 2 blocked shots, Sheena Steward with 16 points and 4 rebounds, Danielle Welch with 3 points and 6 rebounds and Joanie Lawrence had 2 points.
The Lady Trojans have a 2-0 record for area games and they are 11-6 overall. The next game is Friday night against Bessemer with the varsity team playing at 6 p.m.
Marion Academy 34, MMI 23
The MMI lady Tigers took on Marion Academy Tuesday night in Marion, and fell 34-23. With the loss the Lady TIgers record falls to 5-6 on the year.
Leading the way for the Lady Tigers was Yolanda Kelly with 9 points.
Marion Academy was led by Rebecca Stewart with 14 points on the night.
Meadowview 46,
Monroe 45
The Meadowview Christian Lady Trojans picked up their 10th win of the year Monday night knocking off the Monroe Academy Lady Volunteers in a close game 46-45.
Leading the way for the Lady Trojans was Haley McIntyre with 24 points, 18 rebounds, and five blocked shots. Sheena Steward picked up 19 points in the win, and Danielle Welch pulled in nine big rebounds in the contest. Elise McIntyre finished the night with five assist and three points.
With the win the Lady Trojans improve their record to 10-6 on the year.
Junior Varsity Girls
Meadowview 26,
Monroe 10
The Junior Varsity Lady Trojans knocked off Monroe Academy Monday night 26-10.
Leading the way for the Trojans was Danielle Welch with 10 points and eight rebounds, and Carol Anne McIntyre finished up with five points on the night. Kasey Burton also had a good night picking up five big rebounds and three points.
