Bears back on track

The Keith High Bears are undefeated in 2003, and are looking to put their mark on the rest of the basketball season.

After getting off to a slow start and dropping a few games they have managed to put together a three game winning streak, and are at the .500 mark for the year. The recent turn around in the program can be attributed to several things, but one stands out above the rest &uot;Heart&uot;.

Heart can account for a lot when there isn’t one individual player on the team that standouts above the rest. Most teams have that star player that tends to pickup the slack when the team is not performing at its best, but in the case of the Bears it’s not that way.

With the Bears riding a three game winning streak, and playing like a team renewed the possibility’s are endless for the rest of the season.

Maybe a new year and a new attitude is what will make the overall difference in the Bears season.

Pulling off a big win against a opponent that no one expects you to be able to play with can also make for a big turning point in a season.

Even though the Bears are an undersized team they are considered a very scrappy team.

Even though basketball is the game that Pettway coaches, it is not the only thing that he instills in his players.

With the meat of the season still yet to play, and the chance for the Bears to fulfill their goals for the year,

it would be nice to see them in Birmingham in March.
