Selma High Girls 69,
Robert E. Lee 14
The Selma High girls, led by Kim Wilson’s 20 points, rolled over Lee High Wednesday night in Montgomery.
Selma improved to 4-1 on the year. Other leading scorers included Santana Seay with 13, Jennifer Mayo with 10, and Ashley Green with 9.

Selma High Boys 46
Selma High lost its first game of the season Wednesday, falling to Robert E. Lee in Montgomery.
Jai Miller had 14 points, Brandon Davis 12 and Jarvis Wiliams 9 for Selma.
Selma is 7-1 on the season and faces Southside Friday at Wallace Community College.

Robert Childers scored 18 points as the Selma JV improved to 6-0 on the year by beating Robert E. Lee.
John Daily had 14 points and Edgar Brown had 12 points
Francis Marion 78, Southside 60
The Francis Marion Rams got off to a slow start Tuesday when they took on the Southside Panthers, but they turned it on in the third period and walked away with the big win 78-60.
Leading the way for the Rams was Jeremy Arrington with 28 points, five rebounds, three assist, and two steals. Kiedrick Bates finished up the night with 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Rams, and Bryant Moore had 11 rebounds and nine points.
The Rams take on Aliceville in area play on Friday night.
Dallas County 69, Montevallo 66
It was a thriller ending on a cold and rainy night.
The Dallas County Hornets picked up their first win of the young season by nipping previously unbeaten Montevallo 69-66 in overtime.
The Hornets, whose season was delayed by the football playoffs, are now 1-2, and 1-0 in the area.
The first win didn’t come easy, however.
Dallas County held a slim one-point lead at the half 37-36, but behind the hard-driving Clifford Lyons, who led his team with 23 points, the Hornets slowly built an eight-point lead 61-53 late in the fourth quarter.
It was Hornet turnovers that proved costly down the stretch as the Bulldogs closed the gap.
Montevallo’s Anthony Purnell hit a lay-up as time expired to tie the game at 62-62.
In overtime, however, Dallas County worked their double bonus situation to gain the three-point win.
Montevallo missed a trey at the buzzer that would have tied the game again.
Purnell lead all scorers with 27 points.
For Dallas County, Lyons scored 23, while teammates Vencient Moore and Michael Johnson each had 10.
The Hornets travel to Holt Friday night and to Trinity on Saturday before returning home to face Bibb County next Tuesday night.

Motevallo 43
The Lady Hornets, under new head coach Roxanne Jones, let a close game slip away in the final quarter, falling to the Lady Bulldogs 69-43.
Dallas County tied the game at 32 apiece during the third quarter, and only trailed by six, 34-40, going into the fourth.
Dallas County got into foul trouble late, unleashing Montevallo’s big forward, Kinyatta Hayes, who proved to be unstoppable down low. Hayes poured in 30 points on the night to lead all scorers, and guided the visitors to the win.
For the home team, Cassie Newman led scorers with 14, followed by teammates Valencia King and Tiffany Walker with 8 each.

(B-Team) 49,
Montevallo 26
The Hornet junior varsity picked up a convincing win over the visiting Bulldogs by building a four-point half-time lead into 15 by the end of three quarters.
Dallas County scored 12 unanswered points to start the second half and coasted to victory.
Deron Waters hit 11 points, grabbed 17 rebounds, and blocked two shots in the winning effort.
Artelius Dixon led all scorers with 14.

Keith 84,
Matbury 43
The Keith High Bears rolled over Marbury in their first area game Tuesday night 84-43.
Leading the way for the Bears was Jimmy Richardson with 23 points, and 10 rebounds. Marcus Tabb rolled with 15 points, and four rebounds, and Jerimiah Whitt finished up with 18 points and five rebounds.
The Bears move to 1-0 in area play, and they take on R.C. Hatch on Friday night in Orrville.
Selma High 67, Prattville 51
The Selma High Saints improved their record to 7-0 on Tuesday night when they knocked off the Prattville Lions 67-51 on the road.
The Saints were led by Robert Allen with 14 points. Jai Miller and Brandon David each picked up 11 points, and Miguel Harris finished the night with 10 points.
The Saints take on Southside in their next game at Southside.
Selma High (Girls) 69, Prattville 55
The Lady Saints rolled over the Prattville Lady Lions on Tuesday night in Prattville 69-55. They improve their record to 3-1 with the win.
Leading the way for the Lady Saints was Santana Say with 21 points. Kim Wilson finished the night with 15, and Jennifer Mayo picked up 10 in the win.

(B-Team) 45,
Prattville 23
The Selma High B-Team remain undefeated as they pick up their fifth win of the year Tuesday night against Prattville 45-23.
John Daily led the way for the B-Team with 10 points, and Walter Raper picked up eight points.
Hooper 50,
Meadowview (Girls) 40 The Meadowview Christian Lady Trojans dropped a close one to the Lady Colts of Hooper Tuesday night 50-40.
Leading the way for the Trojans was Hailey McIntyre with 23 points. Shens Stewart picked up 12, and Elise McIntyre had three.
The Lady Trojans travel to Wilcox
Academy this weekend to play in the Wicox Academy Tournament.
