The Francis Marion Rams hope to keep their winning traditions alive heading into the 2002-03 basketball season. The Rams have been very successful over the past two decades wining six state championships, and almost always competing in post season play.
After finishing last season 22-12, and only missing the state championship game by one loss hopes are riding high this year.
This year the Rams are off to a good start. They have had early sucess this season, and this past weekend placed second in the Francis Marion Coca-Cola Tournament held in Marion. With the Rams off to
such a good start the future looks very bright for this years team.
With four starters returning from last year the Rams already have a good nucleus to make a run at a seventh state championship.
With the 3A region being one of the toughest in the state the Rams will have their work cut out for them this season.
With Woodie Jackson at the helm, and with the athletic ability of the Rams they could very possibly find themselves in Mobile at the end of the year.
