The Central Christian Academy Warriors defeated the Lowndes County Rebels Friday night at Memorial Stadium 14-12, and finished off the season 9-1.

The first quarter opened with the Rebels punting to the Warriors. The fumble on the punt by the Warriors allowed the Rebels to have excellent field position. After the Rebels marched the ball to the two yard line, Tommy Smith ran the two yards to put the Rebels on the board first. With 9:25 left in the quarter the Rebels led 6-0.

But the Warriors fired back. After a fumble by the Rebels, Chris A. Poe recovered the ball for Central. On the next play, Simuel Walker sprinted 31 yards for the first Warrior touchdown of the night. After the kick by Poe sailed through the goal posts, the Warriors were on the board, 7-6.

The Rebels got right back in the game though. After Corey Andrews fired a pass to Thomas Bartley for 37 yards, the Rebels were on their way to another touchdown. Andrews did the honors, running six yards for the second Rebels touchdown of the night with :41 left in the first quarter. The Rebels now had the lead, 12-7.

The second quarter opened with C.K. Poe connecting with C.A. Poe and Jerome Deese to put the Warriors on the ten yard line. Jarvaris Burden punched it in from ten yards out for a Central touchdown with 10:00 left in the game. After C.A. Poe kicked the extra point, the Warriors grabbed the lead 14-12.

The Rebels tried to regain momentum late in the third quarter after a Warriors pass was intercepted by Davis Callis, but they were unable to move the ball.

The fourth quarter left the Rebels with no place to go, due to the Warriors exceptional defense. Despite flashes of brilliance from the Rebels, the Warrior defense was too much for them. The Warriors took home the homecoming win 14-12.

The Central Christian Warriors open the first round of the play-offs at Memorial Stadium Friday night at 7:30.
