Vivian Frazer Donald
Vivian Frazer Donald, 88, of Gatlinburg, died Monday, October 20, 2003, at a healthcare center in Sevierville, Tenn.
Services are at 3 p.m. Friday, October 24, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Dunklin-Herndon Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-laws, Sara Donald and husband Robert Jenkins of Gatlinburg, Lucy Donald Causby and husband Glenn Causby of Sylva, N.C.; grandson, William Wesley Causby of Sylva, N.C.; stepchildren, William J. Donald of Tuscaloosa and Jane Donald Smith of Fairhope and their descendents; brother, Frank Betz Frazer of Mobile; and sister, Nancy Frazer Luckett of S. Salem, N.Y..
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Converse College, c/o Alumni Office, 580 East Main Street, Spartanburg, S.C. 29302-0006.
She was preceded In death by her husband Dr. William J. Donald, a pioneer in Alabama public health who at his retirement was saving as Associate State Health Officer; and by her step-son, Joe Paul Donald.
Mrs. Donald was the daughter of the late John William Frazer, an eminent Methodist minister and granddaughter of he late John Stanley Frazer, for whom Frazer Memorial Methodist Church in Montgomery, was named.
She was a native of Alabama. She was a graduate of Converse College in Spartanburg, S.C. and taught 33 years in the Alabama school system, most of those years in English Literature. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
