The Selma High Saints edged Carver on Friday night at Memorial Stadium with a little help from Jai Miller 14-13.
It looked like the Carver lead would hold up for most of the game, but that is when Jai Miller decided to step up his play a little bit.
In the fourth quarter with 12 minutes left to play Miller stepped up put the Saints on his shoulders, and marched them to victory.
With Carver leading 7-0 in the fourth quarter Miller ran one in from nine yards out to erase Carvers lead. The two-point conversion was good to give Selma High the 8-7 lead.
Carver turned around, and regained the lead on a touchdown run. The extra point was no good, and Carver went up 13-8.
Miller accounted for all of the Saints next 70 yards on the final drive of the game. Miller either threw, ran, or drew a penalty to move the Saints down the field on the go ahead drive.
Miller scored the late touchdown to make the score 14-13, and give the Saints the key region win that they have been looking for.
Selma High takes on the Central Phoenix City next Friday night on the road.
