Troy O’Neal Perkins

Troy O’Neal Perkins, 77, of Brent, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002 at his home.

Graveside service were at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 2002 at Mt. Ivah Cemetery with the Rev. Arthur Marchant and the Rev. Bryon LaGrone officiating ad Rockco’s Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include five daughters, Doris Nell G. Hughey and husband Jerry, of Selma, Betty Jean Green of Louisiana, Annette Weir and husband Clyde, Glenda Breland and Tina Royster and husband Mark all of Gulf Shores; two brothers, L.C. “Rip” and Farris Perkins both of Tuscaloosa; one sister, Lillie Averette of Tuscaloosa; eight grandchilden; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Lessie Nell Perkins.

Active pallbearers are Jamie Fisher, James Stewart, Kenny Cements, Greg Horton, Richard Royster and Ron Mobley.

Ralph Miles

Ralph Miles, 96, of Selma, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002 at a local hospital.

Services are at 12 noon Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Chapel of Miller Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Purifoy officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Church Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include one son, David Cleveland of Illinois; one daughter, Annie Emery Baynes; and a host of grand and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Willie Fuller

Willie Fuller, 80, of Marion, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002 at a local hospital.

Services are at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at Marion Baptist Academy, Marion with the Rev. Leo King officiating. Burial will follow in Lily Grove Church Cemetery, Marion with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Michael Ellis Sapp

Michael Ellis Sapp, 42, of Marion Jct., died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002 at his home.

Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at Pine Flat Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Kenny Hatcher officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes of Marion directing

Survivors include one daughter, Angela Sapp of Suttle; one brother, Jimmie Sapp of Marietta, Ga.; one sister, Sandra Seykaski of Marietta, Ga.; and one uncle J.H. “Bo” Crawford of Selma.

Jamie Horton, Bruce Fuller, Roger Fuller, Pettus Suttle, Billy Fitzsimmons, Ruben Watters, Jim Watters and Bill Bennett.

Honorary pallbearers are Thomas Arrington, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dunkin, Mary Dunkin, Mr. and Mrs. J.V. Oakes, George McVay, Eulamae Fuller, Roy Cummings, William McMillian, Buck Cole, Rex Thompson, Dewayne Beason, Allen Kendrick, Pete Stewart, Davis Stewart, Ron Parten, Rick Seykoski and Babby Price.

Edna Green

Edna Green, 74, of Selma, died Thursday, September 5, 2002.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Walker Mortuary.

Martha Etta Jackson Snow

Martha Etta Jackson Snow, 74, of Sardis, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002 at a local hospital.

Services are at 12 noon Saturday, Sept. 7, at New Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwight Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include sons, Cliff (Sally), Edward (Betty), Jesse (Denise) all of Mobile, Robert (Mable) of Orrville, and Clarence of Sardis, six daughters, Mary McCollum, Arzetta Jackson, Ionessa Snow, Emma Snow of Sardis, Fannie Jackson and Elizabeth (Ricky) Rayford of Orrville; one sister, Emma Gardner of Orrville; 34 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Leola Davis of Detroit, Mich., and Annie Snow of Atlanta, Ga.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Isiak (Rose) of Selma and Henry of Sardis.

Maggie Murray

Maggie Murray, 104, of Selma, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002 at her home.

Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. T.O. Gaines officiating. Burial will follow in White Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include brothers-in-law, Maxie Murray of Selma and Peter Giles of Chicago, Ill.; sisters-in-law, Josephine Acoff of Cleveland, Ohio, Emma Acoff of Selma, Mildred Johnson of Gary Ind., and Susie Furlow of Chicago, Ill.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers are nephews.

Elnora Fluker

Elnora Fluker, 66, of Demopolis, died Friday, Aug. 30l 2002, at her home.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Moscow Baptist Church, Demopolis, with the Rev. John Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.

Isiah Hurns

Isiah “Sugar Bear” Hurns, 51, of Demopolis, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002 at a Demopolis hospital.

Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at Christian Chapel Baptist Church, Demopolis, with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.

Mamie Thomas

Mamie Thomas, 80, of Selma, died Thursday, September 5, 2002 at a Montgomery hospital.
