That’s how long Alabama Democratic Party Chairman Redding Pitt says it will be before the full state Democratic executive committee arrives at a decision in the appeal of the Alabama House of Representatives District 67 election.

LaTosha Brown contested Yusuf Salaam’s 138-vote victory following the June 25 Democratic Party primary runoff for the District 67 seat. A five-member subcommittee heard Brown’s contest and ruled Aug. 17 that there was not enough evidence of voting irregularities to overturn the election results.

Attorneys for Brown have now appealed that ruling to the full executive committee.

Pitt added that he expects a ruling &uot;soon,&uot; but declined to predict just how quickly that might come. &uot;We’ll deal with it as judiciously as possible,&uot; he said.

Pitt said the appeal won’t even be able to get under way until transcripts of Brown’s original contest have been prepared. &uot;We can’t do anything until the transcript is ready,&uot; he said.

The general election is set for Nov. 5.
