Selma’s Doc Robinson, a former All-American point guard at Auburn University, graduated Auburn University with a bachelor’s of science degree in adult education in ceremonies at Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum on Monday.
Robinson was an All-America first-team selection in helping lead Auburn to a school-best record and the 1999 SEC Championship as he averaged 11.5 points and 5 assists.
In the 1999-2000 season, Robinson was a Wooden Award national player-of-the-year candidate and became the only player in the league to be named All-SEC first-team in both 1999 and 2000. He was a member of the all-time winningest senior class in Auburn history with 85 wins from 1997-2000, including a 53-14 mark his junior and senior seasons.
Robinson is the 15th Tiger to graduate in Ellis’ eight years at Auburn, including the eighth off the 1999 SEC Championship team. Another seven have come back to school to earn their degree during Ellis’ tenure.
