Struggle through losers bracket ends in defeat for 15-16 year olds

The 15&16-year-old All Stars were knocked out of contention this weekend in Enterprise, when they suffered their second loss of the tournament at the hands of Jacksonville 7-4.

Their first loss came against Underwood Friday night 7-5. Underwood made it all the way to the finals of the winner’s bracket.

The 15&16-year-old All Stars tried to make their way back through the loser’s bracket on Saturday by beating West Alabama 6-3, before losing to Jacksonville on Sunday.

Both the 13- and 14-year-old All Stars start play for the state championship this weekend in Muscle Shoals.

The 13-year-old All Stars drew a bye until Sunday night when they will face the district 8 champions. They made it to the state tournament by deafeating Demopolis 6-4 on Thursday, July 4, and then again on Friday 3-2.

The 14-year-old All Stars old play their first game Saturday at 5 p.m. against Decatur. They advanced to the state tournament by deafeating North Clarke County 7-6. The team went undefeated in the district tournament.
