Francis Pershing Pace
Francis Pershing Pace, 85, of Dothan, died Thursday, June 19, 2003.
Services were held Saturday, June 21, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church Chapel with Rev. Mile Freeman officiating. and Byrd Funeral Home directing.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, P. 0. Drawer 2127, Dothan, Alabama, 36302.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Josephine Herrington Pace, Dothan;
son, Dr. James Herrington (Carol) Pace of Elon, N.C.; a daughter, Jan Pace (William) Sheffield of Dothan; four grandchildren, Melissa Pace (Brian) Garrison, Kevin Joseph Pace, all of Elon, N.C., Morgan Keith Ezell and Daniel Pace Ezell, both of Dothan; a sister, Miriam Pace of Burlington, N.C. and two nephews,.
Mr. Pace was born April 27, 1918, in Selma, the son of Robert Norris Pace and Miriam McClain Pace. He graduated from Selma High School. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the 401&uot; Bomb Group of the 8t Army Air Corp. Mr. Pace was employed by the Department of Defense as a supply management specialist for 41 years. He resided in Dothan since his retirement in 1980. Mr. Pace was a member of First United Methodist Church, the YEW and the American Legion.
Mr. Pace was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Robert N. Pace, Jr. and William Stanley Pace.
Anna Pauline Dott Peck
Anna Pauline Dott Peck, 98, of Selma, died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at a local hospital.
Services are scheduled for Wednesday, June 25, at 1 p.m. at the Queen of Peace Church with Father Carroll Plourde officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include sons William (Ilene Peck) of Ocala, Fla., Donald (Alma) Peck of Georgiana and John (Rita) Peck of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughters Pauline Whaley of Largo, Fla., Genive (John) Gilbert of Anderson, Ind., Marie Childres of Crystal River, Fla., Jane (Buster) Warren of Selma and Elizabeth (Larry) Anderson of Virginia Beach, Va.; 27 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and sisters Katharina Schaff of Germany and Gordula Raab of Holland.
Mrs. Peck is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William J. Peck, two brothers and four sisters.
Active pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends at Lawrence Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24.

Maudie Catherine Lawley Beane, 88, of Selma, died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at a Montgomery hospital..
