City and county offices and many businesses in Selma will be closed for Thanksgiving.

Selma City Hall and Selma Municipal Court will be closed Thursday and Friday for the holidays. Both will reopen Monday at normal operating hours.

The Selma Public Works Department will also be closed Thursday and Friday. Trash pickup will resume next week on normal days.

All offices in the Dallas County Courthouse will also be closed Thursday and Friday and will reopen Monday.

Advanced Disposal will not collect garbage on Thursday. Pickups will be moved one day back. Garbage that is normally picked up Thursday will be picked up Friday, and garbage that is picked up Friday will be picked up Saturday.

The United States Post Office located at the intersection of Alabama Avenue and Franklin Street will be closed Thursday and will return to normal operating hours Friday.

Many of Selma’s banks and credit unions will also be closed for Thanksgiving. First Cahawba Bank, Trustmark Bank, Riverdale Credit Union, Wells Fargo, Regions Bank and PNC Bank will be closed Thursday only, while Craig Credit Union and Marion Bank & Trust will be closed Thursday and Friday and will return to normal business hours Monday.
