The Dallas County Sheriff’s Department is trying to identify two men that robbed the Dollar General in Valley Grande Thursday night.

According to Chief Deputy Randy Pugh, the two suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and a pack of beer.

“Around 6 p.m. at the Valley Grande Dollar General we had three black males drive up in the parting lot,” Pugh said.

“Two entered the store and made their way to the back of the store.”

Surveillance video from a security camera that was looking down on the cashier showed the two men enter the checkout line and come to the cash register with a pack of beer and what appeared to be a bottle of soap.

“When they got up to the cash register one individual was paying with some loose change for the item, and when the cashier rang it up and opened the cashier drawer, he pulled a gun on her and reached over and grabbed cash,” Pugh said.

With the handgun pointed at the cashier, a black male, who was dressed in blue jeans, a blue t-shirt, a baseball cap and a yellow safety vest grabbed cash from the drawer.

He then walked out of the store with the other suspect following behind him with the pack of beer.

The other suspect was wearing a black shirt and had a gold chain around his neck.

According to Pugh, the two men got into a gold SUV and left. Pugh said the vehicle appeared to be a Trailblazer, according to what was reported to officers.

Pugh said the two males that entered the store appear to be in their early to mid 20s. They are asking for help from the public to identify the two suspects.

“We’ve got some good video of them, and we need to see if we can identify them,” Pugh said.

Anyone that might recognize the two men is asked to call the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department at 874-2530.
