Area groups have joined forces to share important health information with the public.

The Selma Friends for Life, Project Transformation and Selma AIR are hosting a community health rally and resource fair July 9.

The family-friendly event will provide a free health screening and information from various community organizations like Sarrell Dental Center, the Alabama Department of Public Health, Cahaba Mental Health and more.

“One of the biggest things we see as a non-profit organization is the large number of people who really don’t take advantage of things simply because they don’t know,” said Selma AIR health educator Lydia Chatmon.

The community health rally and resource fair will be held at Calhoun Cash Saver, located at 415 J.L. Chestnut Blvd. The event will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 2 p.m.
