According to the Selma Police Department, Sherry Ann Taylor, who was reported missing in mid-December, was found after the Special Victims Unit made contact with her around 1 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Taylor was found safe, unharmed and in good shape, according to Lt. Curtis Muhannad. Taylor requested her location to remain confidential for an undisclosed reason.

According to Muhannad, Taylor was found after the SVU received phone calls from people who spotted Taylor.

“The Special Victims Unit received several calls concerning sightings and possible locations of Ms. Taylor,” Muhannad said. “These calls allowed detectives to locate Ms. Taylor.”

When Taylor was reported missing December 19, the police department responded to a home on the 2500 block of McDaniels Drive in reference to a report of a missing person.

Taylor’s father spoke with police when they arrived on the scene. According to Muhannad, her father told police his daughter, Taylor, moved from her residence in October and had not been heard from since.

Upon further investigation, Selma investigators found out Taylor moved out of her home after her lease ended Oct. 31 and possibly moved to Clanton with her son.

The SVU made several attempts to contact Taylor, but they were unsuccessful until Friday.
