There was only one vehicle involved.

Ghant said further details about the accident and those involved are not available Friday afternoon.

“My prayers go out to [the pedestrian] and his family,” Ghant said. “I hope he has a full recovery.”

Ghant spoke about the importance of being careful on and near the roadways, whether it’s as driver or pedestrian.

“When you’re out there driving make sure to be cautious when you see people in the road,” she said. “Citizens have to be careful as well to make sure they go through the traffic light where the crosswalk is at. We have to take care of each other whether we are driving in the vehicle or walking.”

The incident is still under investigation as of Friday afternoon, Ghant said.
