Cora Mae Collins

Cora Mae Collins was born February 3, 1941 to the late Sue and Willie Mae Bell Sanders of Browns, Alabama. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Shiloh Baptist Church in Sardis, Alabama. Cora later moved to Orrville, Alabama and later joined the Antioch Baptist Church where she served as Usher Board President for many years until her health failed.

Cora was employed with the Dallas County Commissioner for over twenty-five years. She loved to laugh, have fun and when you saw her she always had a smile on her face. On Thursday, June 13, 2013, our Blessed Father called Cora to her heavenly home at her residence.

Cora was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Collins Sr., two daughters Cora Ann and Regina Collins; two sisters, Mamie Glasco and Rose Brown; one brother, Charles Sanders ; one great-grand daughter,, Dora Michael Hayes.

She leaves to cherish her memories, seven sons, Albert (Brenda) Collins Jr., Darrell (Regina) Collins, Allen Collins and Jermaine Collins, all of Orrville, AL, Alex (Rose) Collins of Selma, AL, Cornelia (Melissa) Collins of Daphne, FL., and Ray Collins of Winfield, KS.; five daughters, Alma (Willie) Underwood of Hampton, GA; Ruby (Marvin) Carter and Ella Collins Adams both of Pensacola, FL., Dorothy Collins and Quincella Collins of Orrville, AL; four grandchildren she raised as if they were her own, Adam, Erica, Quentin, and Sandy Collins all of Orrville, AL; one special friend, Mr. Otis Abram; twenty seven grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren, one brother-in-law, seven sisters-in-laws, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Services will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, Orrville, officiated by Rev. John L. Ward. Burial will follow in church cemetery directed by Miller Funeral Service of Selma.
